Experience an energizing, welcoming environment that feels like home.

Kent State University was founded in 1910 and has since become the third largest university in Ohio that is affordable and provides a safe and supportive environment. Kent State offers a highly favorable match between the cost and quality of a college degree and offers eligible international students a significant amount of financial assistance. When combined, available scholarships have the potential of awarding an international student upwards of $32,000 towards a 4-year undergraduate degree. There are opportunities for on-campus employment as well. As one of the safest campuses in the U.S. as ranked (25th) by the Council for Home Safety and Security, Kent State goes above and beyond to ensure students’ safety. All residence halls remain locked 24 hours a day, seven days a week with security aids that patrol each hall. The staff of Kent State’s International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) within the Office of Global Education actively supports international students by offering assistance the second students arrive on campus. Numerous on-campus international organizations and clubs actively involve students in activities and gatherings that are designed to provide students with social support, guidance and a feeling of home.
